Vera Lewis

Vera Lewis founder of Gifted People N’ Action is a prayer warrior and dedicated woman of God. She is also a motivator, entrepreneur, Ordained Minister, Arthur, and poetry writer play write. She recently received her degree in Biblical Studies from Bible Believers College and Seminary. She is very passionate about the plight of the communities in South Los Angeles and has vowed to reach out and help in any way possible. With that said, she has/is making it her life mission to serve the community in any way she can.

Minister Lewis is also co-pastor at her Church, Christ Apostolic Church of America in South Los Angeles.


Charles Lewis

Charles Lewis grew up in South Central Los Angeles. Attended Carver Jr. High and Jefferson High School in graduating he attended East L.A. College for 1 ½ years. After the riots of 1965 he join the Army attended jump school was promoted to SP4. He left the Army after 3 years of serving in Viet Nam. came home, and began driving big rigs. Charles is the oldest of 9 children- he worked in South Park and Avalon Carver Community Center working with children while helping his sisters and brothers. As co- founder and Vice Prsident of Gifted People N’ Action Incorporated he has been very pro-active in helping service the community.


Cynthia Mossiah

Born in Belize Cynthia came to America with her family. She graduated from Dorsey High School, got married and had one child a wonderful son James L. Henry III. From that union came two awesome granddaughters and one handsome grandson.

Cynthia love the Lord and she is a worshipper, armor bearer and encourager. Currently attending Christ Apostolic Church of America. She is also a fashion Diva. One of her greatest joys is working with people and creating an atmosphere of fulfillment everywhere she go. Cynthia is a very active board member of Gift People N’ Action as treasurer and love putting on events.


Yolanda Armon

This southern girl from Jackson, Mississippi, was taught at an early age about community organizing. In 1991 my Aunt founded GOD's Lil Cleaners. I would volunteer every year in assisting them with the Christmas Giveaway. Yolanda passion for organization leads her to Los Angles Trade Tech College where she is pursuing her Certificate in Community Planning and Economic Development and a AA Degree in Labor Studies. While studying at LATTC, Yolanda Armon recognizes that POWER in poor and working class people of color speaking communities can only be built through solidarity, recognition and understanding of community issues and needs, and strategic planning that involves the community itself as the primary leader. Yolanda continues to seek out way she can help the people in the South Los Angeles communities.

She joined AmeriCorps Vista team, and was placed at CD Tech Organization as a volunteer for outreach and recruitment in August 2014. She ran strategic organizing campaigns throughout the South Los Angeles bringing communities together. Her primary focus was creating leadership programs for youth and adults of African and Latino descent in South LA. Today Yolanda joined Lisc volunteer services, where she is place at the WorkSource Center on Los Angeles Trade Tech College campus. Three day's out of a week Yolanda Coordinate and facilitates Financial Literacy to low-income young adult and adults, by tracking their effort and outcome in ETO system. She volunteer her time at the WorkSource Center located at LATTC campus where she educate in financial literacy in the steps procuress, understand your credit, budgeting, and money management. Yolanda continues on her journey to changes live and builds communities, through GPNA where Man2Man and Beauty for Ashes mentoring program for youth and adults continue to grow in our communities.
